Hello Nature Network Friends,

Spring is around the corner and hope you and yours are doing well.

The Ontario Nature Huronia Regional Spring Meeting will take place Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 7 - 9 p.m. by ZOOM

I invited Sarah Rang, Executive Director from the Invasive Species Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, as our guest speaker.  Sarah will share latest advances in preventing and managing invasive species, opportunities for community science, followed by an open discussion to get your questions answered. Join us to learn about new free resources that may help your group with invasive species, a growing biodiversity challenge.

We will make time to allow discussion and hear from our Huronia club reps and presidents about how your group is faring during the pandemic.

Also at this meeting, we will be voting in a new Huronia Regional Director to replace retiring Dorothy McKeown.

The big news is that Kate Harries has agreed to let her name stand as the Huronia Regional Representative for Ontario Nature, replacing another MPFN member Dorothy McKeown.  Congratulations on a job well done Dorothy and you can rest assured that with Kate you are passing the torch into very capable hands.

Kate will be put forward for election at the Ontario Nature Huronia Regional Meeting on Zoom, Wed. Apr. 14, 2021 7 to 9 PM.  We'll send a reminder closer to the date but it would be nice to get good attendance from our group to support Kate at the meeting.  If you would like the link to join this meeting contact both Regional Coordinator Barbara MacKenzie-Wynia Barbaraw@ontarionature.org and the MPFN mpfieldnaturalists@gmail.com

ZOOM sign-in information and agenda will follow.  All are welcome to attend.  Please let me know if you plan on attending.
